Putting The ‘hssssshhhhhhhh’ Into Bus Doors
Brief:
Our client manufactures pneumatic actuators for use in the automatic door operating systems for buses. We manufactured the mould and made the parts for the actuator from our clients designs.
Process:
Working from our own drawings, we produced the moulds for the seals in our in-house tool room.
Production:
The vane seals were manufactured from Viton to meet the client’s durability specification.
The transport sector is one of our key business sectors and we have established a strong experience for design and manufacturing solutions for use in a wide range of vehicle and associated applications, both road and rail, for commercial and public service. We have developed a particular specialist operation in providing precision components for bus manufacture, with solutions including actuator seals, gaskets, brake components & seals and engine mountings. Transport related products have involved the manufacture of non-slip rubber mattings for London Underground (produced on our 36”x52” mould press) using LSLT flame retardant material, and a wide variety of rubber components for automotive applications.
